A matched pair of knives. The full tangs are hammer tapered and
drawn to width, then the blades are buffed to a mirror sheen. Hand forged
from W-1 tool steel. The well-figured curly maple handles are pinned
with four brass pins.
Using animal bone and pouring bolsters requires careful finish work,
but produces an exceptionally nice knife. Deer leg bone handled
knife with pewter bolster: Half tang blade 5" long, hand forged from
W-1 tool steel. Overall length 9 ¼".
Knives can be as finished or as primitive as you want. This small
dagger uses a deer leg bone, as the knife above, but it is more heavily
aged and wrapped in rawhide for a more primitive look. The half tang
3 ½" blade is hand forged from a file, with some of the file teeth
left from the forging process. Length overall 7 ¾".
